Real London Homes: Cally and Matt’s, a taster post

12 Feb

I’m cat sitting for my sister and brother-in-law this week. I’ve been asking them for a while if I can do a Real London Homes post but because they’re renting they don’t feel they’ve quite got their home to showing-off standard. However, while they’re away they can’t stop me so I thought I’d just share one of the corners of their home that I love.

Real London Homes

Cally works in fashion and Matt co-owns trendy graphic design agency One Big Company so it’s no surprise that they’ve got a good eye for design. Between them they have created a home that is both is stylish and homely.

This little corner of their living room is stuffed with pictures, books and ornaments. The chair belonged to Matt’s grandmother and they recovered it to freshen it up.

Matt is collecting beautiful books including cloth covered Penguin Classics and Barnes and Noble ‘like leather’ books.

I don’t know where he’s from but I like this robot.

This arrangement of pictures and photos is a snapshot of their lives together and apart. There’s a family snap of each of them when they were young (if you look closely at the middle top photo I’m in the pink dress!). A Lucy Loves This ‘Clapham’ print and painting of Battersea Power Station remind them of the area they first lived in together. I’d like to explain the turtle (top left) but have no idea, he’s cute though!

Do you have a home worth showing off? Get in touch and let us know about it.

Ooh, is that a proper Paul Catherall print? We could only afford a poster version!

I don’t know. It has one of those x/xx numbers at the bottom though.

Deffo an original then. I was in touch with Paul Catherall once (was almost going to buy a print, but it sold out) – really nice man. And as you know, I don’t like most people!
